Scott McLaughlin wins as Scott Dixon bids farewell to Ganassi

Kiwi grabs the limelight as decorated compatriot Sir Scott Dixon has his final outing for the Chip Ganassi Racing team, ending a 25-year relationship.

Scott McLaughlin has finished the IndyCar season in style, taking out the final race of the year after starting from pole and leading from start to finish in his Team Penske Chevrolet.

It was a pretty faultless drive from the Kiwi, who had enough in hand to keep American Kyle Kirkwood comfortably behind him. Kirkwood’s second place also secured him second overall in the championship, behind Alex Palou.

For McLaughlin, the win will have been particularly satisfying. It’s his eighth IndyCar victory across six full seasons, but his first since 2024.

He also picked up two second-place finishes during the year, helping him finish sixth in the championship.

There was plenty of emotion afterwards too, with his one-year-old daughter Lucy finally getting to see her dad win a race.

And while McLaughlin was celebrating, it was also the end of an era for Sir Scott Dixon, who made his final appearance for Chip Ganassi Racing after an incredible 25-year relationship with the team.

So, a pretty memorable way to close out the season and for McLaughlin, a win that could prove a very useful springboard heading into 2027.
