Canada and Alaska, by rail and by sea, with somebody else carrying the bags

Rocky Mountaineer glass-roof carriages, a cruise up the Inside Passage, and days of simply looking out the window.

Some trips are about ticking boxes. This one is about sitting still while the most spectacular scenery on earth slides past the window, which, frankly, is the sort of holiday we can all get behind.

You travel through the Canadian Rockies in the Rocky Mountaineer’s glass-roof carriages, stay in grand old Fairmont hotels, then swap the rails for a ship and cruise up the Inside Passage into Alaska, glaciers, whales and all. It is all stitched together so you never once have to work out what happens next.

We handle the connections, the hotels, the transfers and the tiny logistical headaches that turn a big trip into a stressful one. You handle the photographs, of which there will be thousands.

It is a proper once-in-a-while journey, and worth every moment. Tell us when, and we will start building it.

Like the sound of it?This one's ready when you are.
